About us
The Colombian Network of Scientific Women is an association of people and institutions interested in promoting, stimulating and making visible the participation of women in science and technology in key areas for the development of the country.
With this objective in mind, various activities in research, education, innovation and entrepreneurship are organized, from a gender perspective, to overcome the factors, actions and consequences that affect the conditions of equity and difference.
We believe that science is equally exciting for men and women and that we can contribute to empower women scientists and achieve greater gender equality in the scientific field in Colombia.
We believe that women have the right and the obligation to contribute from their own perspective to the creation of a more harmonious and sustainable world.
We want to support the professional development of young scientists and motivate school-age girls towards science by stimulating their curiosity.
Our mission
Promote, stimulate, support and make visible the participation of women in science and technology in key areas for the development of Colombia and propose policies to guarantee such participation.
Our vision
We want to become the advisory body on gender issues pertinent to the education and professional practice of women scientists at the national level.
We want to contribute to the construction of a more equitable country in terms of opportunities and remuneration for women scientists and to contribute our experience and perspective for sustainable social development.
